Hey yogis, you've been requesting some more challenging flows for intermediate students so I decided to put together a class that focuses on balance and core strength with lots of asymmetrical poses!
I absolutely love working on balancing poses. They are always very humbling because no matter how experienced and advanced you may be as a practicioner, some days no matter what you do you just can't balance!
We'll also play with a lot of great plank pose variations that really get into the obliques and make you engage the inner thighs. You'll need 2 blocks for this practice as we will use them for a few of our plank pose sequences.
The key to a class like this one is to not get discouraged and JUST HAVE FUN! Don't take yourself seriously if you fall once, twice or a million times! It's all good and it happens to everyone. The goal of yoga is not to have a seamless practice where everything is perfect. In fact, there is no goal! Simply enjoy the process and trust the fact that you are getting stronger everytime you step on your mat. You are doing good for your body and that's what counts!

Focus on something else when you are working out, not how tired you are.
Clothing has a lot do with your motivation, if you have athletic clothing on you will feel the need to fit the part. When you are dressed for the routine, you are more likely to do it. Workout clothing can be a little more costly, but the variety of styles and colors available makes it worthwhile and can really add to the fun factor in your workout routines.
Working out the same way every day will quickly lead to boredom. If your workouts aren't enjoyable, you're unlikely to stick with them. Keep yourself motivated to exercise by changing your routine. Seek out different methods of working out to mix it up and keep your interest piqued. This is essential if you want to stick with the exercise plan. Make sure the reward you choose is indulgent, even if it's simple. Have a sliver of cheesecake, or buy yourself that book you've been wanting to read. No matter what kind of reward you give yourself, make sure it's something you really want and something you can actually get. Being enthusiastic and keeping your motivation flowing will help you reach your goals.
You don't have to settle for mundane workouts that don't excite you. One key the enjoying your workout is having the right attitude going in. Take a new attitude toward fitness by applying these helpful ideas.
